Vitaliy Barvinenko is awarded a medal dedicated to the Armenian Genocide

On April 13 Ukrainian MP Vilaliy Barvinenko was awarded a medal of the Union of Armenians of Ukraine dedicated to the Armenian Genocide. Chairman of the Union of Armenians of Ukraine Vilen Shatvoryan awarded Vitaliy Barvinenko the Holy Martyrs – Victims of the Armenian Genocide Medal. The medal was named after martyrs – victims of the Armenian Genocide canonized on 23rd April at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin on the eve of the 100th anniversary of tragic events in Ottoman Empire of 1915.

As is known, Vitaliy Barvinenko is an initiator of the draft law on the Recognition of the Armenian Genocide that was lodged in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on April 3, 2015.

The Holy Martyrs – Victims of the Armenian Genocide medals were also awarded to: the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, the Minister of Culture of Ukraine Vyacheslav Kyrylenko; the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov; MPs Mykola Kniazhytsky and Vadim Novinsky; doctor of historical sciences, professor Stanislav Kulchitsky; associate professor in architecture Larysa Sroryk; Director of Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine Olga Muzychuk.
